Full Time Regular Programme

The Full Time Regular Programme runs in the following departments:

Shipping Management.

The ND program is for individual seeking career in the Shipping industry.

Upon successful completion, the student will have solid knowledge of Ship Management.

  • Maritime Law
  • Insurance

which are particularly relevant for Companies in this sector.

Duration: 2 years with four (4) months Industrial Attachment.

Security Management & Technology.

The ND program is intended to produce enterprising, well trained and highly skilled security personnel in the private and public sectors of the Nigerian Economy.

The program offers a world of opportunities.

Upon successful completion, the student will be able to;

  • Demonstrate an acceptable level of understanding of the security industry, quality, ethical behaviors and responsibilities of the security officer.
  • Skillfully operate electronic security devices and systems.
  • Promote health and Safety in the Society.
  • Specialize in a field of Security operation.
  • Resolve and manage conflict.
  • Competently carry out patrol, Access control, search investigation.

Duration: 2 years with four (4) months Industrial Attachment.

Marine Engineering Department.

The programme is intended to impart theoretical knowledge and practical skills to students on engineering design, planning, management, operation and maintenance of marine engineering systems and equipment suitable for an innovation technical.

Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:

  • Identify and select simple hand machine tools for marine engineering operations.
  • Draw and interpret engineering drawing related to marine systems.
  • Acquire and apply basic entrepreneurship skills.
  • Promote a capacity to solve specified technical design problem.
  • Draw up simple routine maintenance plans.

Duration: 2 years with four (4) months Industrial Attachment.

Maritime Transport and Business Studies.

Global Maritime Academy runs various categories of programmes that leads to the award of National Diploma (ND) as listed below:

Part Time Programme

The Part Time Programme runs in the following departments:

  1. Shipping Management Department.
  2. Security Management and Technology Department.
  3. Maritime Transport.

Duration:
The part time evening programme is a three (3) years programme. Lectures starts on Friday from 4pm – 7pm, Saturday from 8am – 4pm and on Sunday from 1pm – 6pm , throughout the six (6) semester period, of the programme.

Industrial Attachment:
Industrial Attachment is compulsory in all ND programmes.

Online Academy

Online Training which leads to the award of Certificates, are available for professionals in the Industry.

These courses are meant to enhance professionalism, and lead to the award of Certificates or Diplomas.

They are meant for professionals who want to upgrade, new entrants into the Maritime Industry, Cooperate Organizations who wants to retrain their personnel.

It is also meant for the Shipping Companies, Maritime Administrators, Government Agencies, School Leavers, Undergraduates, Graduates, Manufacturers, Bankers and Businessmen, etc.

Objective:
On completion of each course, the participant should be able to undertake direct or supportive role in the operations or problem solving in the Shipping/Maritime Industry.

Some of the courses are as listed below:
